Bourbon Women founder: Given a choice, 'I always go Bourbon'

For Peggy Stevens, it's all about the bourbon.

She is the founder of Bourbon Women, the premiere organization for women who are passionate about exploring bourbon and the culture that surrounds it, is expanding its membership footprint into the Indianapolis area. They will host an event this week - 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, at Vine & Table, 313 East Carmel Drive.

Bourbon Women was formed in 2011 to serve as the voice and unifying body for female bourbon drinkers.

We sat down with Peggy and asked her to tell us more about Bourbon Women.

First, let's establish why this group exists? Are women not as eager to drink bourbon, or ID themselves as bourbon fans? Too many wine sippers out there?

"BW was formed to create a platform for women to learn about the industry in a comfortable environment that was positioned for their enjoyment.We call it edu-tainment.On the contrary, we have found women who love Bourbon and it has been their spirit choice for quite some time, they just were not marketed to by the industry.
