Bourbon Women President Interviewed by Forbes

Two-fifths of bourbon drinkers are women. Why are women suddenly drawn to America’s native spirit?  According to Susan Reigler, president of the board of directors of Bourbon Women, the rise in interest in women isn’t exactly sudden.

“I grew up in Kentucky,” says Reigler. “Women have been drinking bourbon for a very long time.”

If that’s the case, then why create a club for women? Bourbon Women was founded in 2010 with 100 people in attendance at their inaugural event at the Kentucky’s Governor’s Mansion. Five years later, it’s grown 700% to 700 members in 29 states and three countries. Chicago’s branch is officially set to launch on October 24.
