Tops in Lexington: Bourbon Women Association announces “Not Your Pink Drink” contest winners

The Bourbon Women Association has announced winners in both the professional and amateur divisions of its second annual “Not Your Pink Drink” cocktail recipe contest which ran June 15 through August 15. Bobby Ridenour of Rivue Restaurant and Lounge in Louisville won the professional division with her “Bourbon Sling” cocktail and Marla Zimmerman of Louisville won the amateur division with her "Palm Breeze" cocktail. Both recipients were announced at the 2013 Kentucky Bourbon Festival "Any Way She Likes It" event in Bardstown, Ky., on Friday, Sept. 20. The winning cocktails will be declared the official cocktails of the Bourbon Women Association for one year and recipes can be found at

The Not Your Pink Drink contest encourages professional and amateur mixologists to concoct a cocktail to reflect the sassy spirit of the Bourbon Women Association with one exception—the final drink cannot be pink! Each cocktail is required to include bourbon and at least two other ingredients that can be purchased at local Kentucky retailers.
