Hello, Bourbon Women!
What a fantastic time to be a Bourbon Woman. While 95 percent of the world’s bourbon is produced in Kentucky, appreciation for our native spirit apparently knows no boundaries. Global demand for bourbon is increasing, and a record number of visitors completed the Kentucky Bourbon Trail tour last year – most of them from outside Kentucky.
This widespread interest holds true for Bourbon Women as well. We now have nearly 250 members representing 18 states, and we add members every week!
We’ve had great turnout at all of our BW events so far, but we realize that it’s difficult for many of you who live outside the Bluegrass State to attend. That’s why this year, we are bringing the events to you with an exciting new series: Bourbon Women Take Flight.
This series will take us to cities across the country for bourbon tastings, networking opportunities and educational seminars. We’ll kick things off March 29 at the Be Medispa in Lexington, Ky., then travel to Washington, D.C.; Dallas; Birmingham; Boston; Chicago; and Los Angeles. Check your email and the website for details. We can’t wait to meet you!
In addition to our Bourbon Women Take Flight events, we’ll be making a trip to Maker’s Mark in Loretto, Ky., this year for an in-depth tour led by Victoria-Rae Samuels, one of the only female production vice-presidents in the bourbon world, and a tasting of Maker’s Mark and Maker’s 46. Later in the summer, we’ll head to beautiful Woodford Reserve in Versailles, Ky., for a peek behind the scenes and a bourbon picnic on the porch featuring the creations of Chef Ouita Michaels.
Like all BW events, these will offer the private access and bourbon education that Bourbon Women have come to expect. If you’re a member, be sure to RSVP for the next event now! If you haven’t yet joined, click here. This promises to be another big year for Bourbon Women, and you don’t want to miss a minute of it!
Cheers,
