The Bourbon Women Education Foundation is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Executive Director to lead and organize our developing organization. As the Executive Director, you’ll be at the forefront of our mission to champion women in the beverage alcohol industry and those seeking employment in the industry through education, mentorship, and leadership development.

You will take charge of strategic, operational, administrative and financial oversight, ensuring our programs thrive while forging new partnerships and expanding our reach. With a commitment to supporting women in the industry, you’ll lead fundraising initiatives, engage with the community, and collaborate closely with the Managing Director of Bourbon Women, all while being a critical advisor to the Bourbon Women Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspiring Leadership & Visionary Strategy:

Lead the charge on strategies that will propel the Foundation’s mission forward. Collaborate with the Foundation Board to craft and execute a strategic plan that sets ambitious yet achievable goals. Facilitate and follow through on strategies. Be the public face and passionate voice of the Foundation at events, with partners, and in the community.

 

Fundraising with Impact:

You’ll take the helm of our fundraising efforts, identifying donor engagement opportunities, organizing donor databases and collecting funds. From developing engaging materials that create partnerships with donors to developing unforgettable events, you’ll ensure the financial health of the Foundation. Cultivate relationships with current supporters, express gratitude and seek out new opportunities that fuel our mission. Maintain website and social media.

 

Financial Stewardship & Accountability:

Oversee the financial operations with precision and transparency. Manage the budget, reporting, and compliance while working closely with the Board Treasurer. Ensure that every dollar raised is put to its best use in service of our mission.

 

Program Innovation & Excellence:

Lead the development and exploration of impactful programs that support women in the industry. Constantly strive to enhance and expand mentorship and education programs in partnership with staff, volunteers, and stakeholders. Ensure that our mentoring programs continue to set the standard for excellence in the spirits industry. Facilitate application logistics for scholarship programs.

 

Board Engagement & Leadership:

Foster an engaged and effective Board of Directors through collaboration, open communication, and shared vision. Provide critical updates on financial status, strategic initiatives, and program successes. Help recruit and train new board members to ensure strong, diverse leadership for years to come.

 

Operations & Organizational Efficiency:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Foundation, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Stay on top of legal, ethical, and regulatory standards to maintain the highest level of organizational integrity.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Leadership experience in nonprofit management, foundation management, or a related sector.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements of a 501(c)3 organization at the federal and state levels. As well as a thorough understanding of state gaming regulations.
  • Comfortable with fundraising.
  • Financial management expertise, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a track record of board collaboration.
  • Passion for empowering women and advancing our mission.
  • Experience in the spirits industry is a plus, but not required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Contract Position: $1000 monthly for approximately 40 hours a month of labor
  • Flexibility hours, primarily remote work
